FREE fun day Sundays coming in September

When has a golf course ever given you free golf. Well we are. All you have to do is sign-up for our e-specials to get the e-mail that will provide $0 green fee. We hope that you come play, rent a golf car if you must but not required, stick around and enjoy the football games. Then hopefully, you'll continue to support us even if you have to pay a little. Woods was no Choke

I can't believe people are even suggesting the Woods choked. When he missed the 6 footer on #18 in the 3rd rounds you knew he was vulnerable. The YX just played out of his mind on the final round. Chipping in on 14, gutty shot on 18, that worked out, and he made plenty of other great shots. YX was in the zone and that was the only man that was going to beat Tiger besides Tiger himself. Tiger just didn't seem to have the edge he normally does in that situation but that's far from choking. A choke is defined by vanpelt or norman rember those chokes. I know choking because I've done it..who hasn't...Tiger...yeah, maybe when he was a kid. The choke is mental and it prohibits you from relaxing and making the swing, chip, putt etc. You think about the outcome and what it means and you think about the future and try to project it with "If I can only"...then you choke.

Golf Poem

The following poem was sent to me from a golfing friend. I thought it was pretty neat so I'd like to share it with you all.

Golf Poem


In My Hand I Hold A Ball,
White And Dimpled, Rather Small.
Oh, How Bland It Does Appear,
This Harmless Looking Little Sphere.

By Its Size I Could Not Guess,
The Awesome Strength It Does Possess.
But Since I Fell Beneath Its Spell,
I've Wandered Through The Fires Of Hell.

My Life Has Not Been Quite The Same,
Since I Chose To Play This Stupid Game.
It Rules My Mind For Hours On End,
A Fortune It Has Made Me Spend.

It Has Made Me Yell, Curse And Cry,
I Hate Myself And Want To Die.
It Promises A Thing Called Par,
If I Can Hit It Straight And Far.

To Master Such A Tiny Ball,
Should Not Be Very Hard At All.
But My Desires The Ball Refuses,
And Does Exactly As It Chooses.

It Hooks And Slices, Dribbles And Dies,
And Even Disappears Before My Eyes.
Often It Will Have A Whim,
To Hit A Tree Or Take A Swim.

With Miles Of Grass On Which To Land,
It Finds A Tiny Patch Of Sand.
Then Has Me Offering Up My Soul,
If Only It Would Find The Hole.

It's Made Me Whimper Like A Pup,
And Swear That I Will Give It Up.
And Take To Drink To Ease My Sorrow,
But The Ball Knows...I'll Be Back Tomorrow.

Monday Madness

You should have seen the suprised faces today in the golf shop. It was great when people actually got to play for $2. I threw some online specials on the Bougainvillea website at www.bvgolf.net and bam people couldn't pass on the rate. Frankly it wasn't intended to be with cart but that's the way it went. Play Wednesday for $4.99. There is NO WAY you will find a better deal EVER! The course is in great shape and you might actually make a few birdies with our 6 par 5's.

Five Dollar Fridays

We had our first $5 Friday. It was a fun time for most if not all players. Players got an added bonus of 99 degrees. Several hung around after their rounds for our $5 menu. If you've never had our food it is the best in the public course realm for sure and rivals country club food. The utensils are truly public course style so be prepared to either eat with your hands as in a cheeseburger or with plastic. Rest assured it tastes just as good with fine china or plastic. :)

We are doing the $5 Friday again this Friday. You have to book on-line at www.bvgolf.net in order to get that price. Speeking of great deals you should follow us on twitter and get literally last minute deals. You know someone cancels and a spot opens you win.

Fairfax High School

Thanks to FHS for playing at Bougainvillea Today. Great Fundraiser. I am really excited to see how the golf team is going to progress. The staff, teachers, coaches and volunteers at Fairfax are awesome.

Happy Birthday Tom

I played Bougainvillea early this morning with Tom Fleck. We had a great time and the course is in great shape! Tom shot his age (41) but I won't disclose his final score or how many holes it took for him to reach (41).

Bougainvillea had a super turnout for our $5 Fridays. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I had fun operating the beverage cart. Anyone that know someone that would be a good beverage cart girl please send me her information. Come out and enjoy the course each Friday for the next several weeks for only $5. Tiger Woods is Sick!!

Did you know Tiger is already using the mandated equipment for next year? He's still tearing everybody up and the rest of the best are using the currently legal square grooves. It will make a difference when they switch. Look for Tiger to rip off 10 wins next year.
